Reports say that cyber terrorism operating from China has committed acts of espionage by spying on other countries and forcibly taking money from online casino gambling games. This came up as a result of an international study of Internet cyber crimes, which was conducted, where an existence of a shadow network of hackers was proved. According to the research a joint task force from the Information Warfare Monitor and the Shadow server Foundation which is reportedly a criminal organization based in China, has forcibly gained access to website, including internet gambling sites.
However, the reports do not claim a direct connection with the Chinese government and the hacker gang, but what is sure is that the servers in use are within Chinese borders. Online casinos have already faced a number of attacks by thousands of linked computers run by illegitimate programs, upsetting traffic and blocking access to sites. Hackers have insisted on massive payments to end the attacks, and to allow business at targeted casinos to carry on as usual. Chinese officials however, have denied their involvement and link to the hacking attacks, and say they are totally unaware of hacking networks.
It has also been reported that attacks have included hacking into United Nations websites, as well as those of the Dalai Lama and Government of India. Google has claimed that they received hundreds of cyber attacks during its disagreement with China. So, while online casinos are taking all the security measures to ensure safety and security to online gamblers, hackers are at work round the clock to ensure that they get as much booty they can from online gambling.
